Ebay.
A special money press release about Ebay for immediate release.
Ebay is one of the largest online marketplace.
Last week we received an email from them oris it a scam from enforcement@ebay.com saying that we are not allowed to use the domain name Ebay Money Blog at http://www.ebaymoneyblog.com because we are possibly violating the trademark law.
Now before this top story begins we believe that this email enforcement@ebay.com is a scam and not an official eBay email. In fact we will contact officially Ebay through their website and also through their email iprequest@ebay.com and hopefully will publish soon their official reply.
So for the time being the owner of email enforcement@ebay.com can go and kick our ass unless we receive an official request from Ebay that it is their official email.Too bad we wasted time answering to this email enforcement@ebay.com
Also we made a search and Ebay wants to stop Google from selling ads containing the word “ebay” like :
- how to sell on ebay
- how to make money on ebay
- how to start an online store on ebay
- tips for selling on ebay
- how to make succesful ebay auctions
- ebay auctions
- ebay auction tools
- free ebay auction templates
- ebay auction online
So the main story is this :
- Can you use a registered name and trademark like Ebay in another domain with 2 conditions?
- Use the name being a component of a domain if you live in another country as we live in Greece
- Get their permission in written way that you are not officially affiliated with them and post it on your website
We have also registered :
- http://www.ebaymoneyblog.com of course
We also post some interesting links to support our view that we do not violate trademark regulation by no means.

This TM violation in a URL stems from ebay’s win against purfumebay.com
Ok.So Ebay will sue me if I launch http://www.ebaymoneyblog.com ?
Not afraid!
I have a similar URL and received the same type of email from Enforcement@ebay.com and I also think it is a scam. Have you received any word from eBay?
